It has only been 6 months since the launch of Honor 7C and the Chinese smartphone company is all set for another launch. Honor 7C’s successor will be Honor 8C, one of the greatest smartphones in the world today. The phone will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 processor and will feature AI-enhanced cameras, a notched display, and Android 8.1 Oreo right from the manufacturer. It is expected to be launched in two variants: the first with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, and the other with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage.
This exciting new model will have a front that is dominated by a 6.26-inch HD+ display. Its notch is quite small and can be masked easily, thanks to an option in the settings. The area around its notch can be used to show time, battery level and other status icons. First-party applications are built to accommodate the notch. The display has enough brightness, good viewing angles and brilliant colours. The only issue might be the images and texts, which might be a little bland, thanks to the HD+ resolution, which is not so good for a screen of this size.
For lovers of bigger gadgets, Honor 8c might just be what you need as it is wide and tall. It may however not be comfortably used with one hand. Users can also choose from the onscreen buttons or EMUI’s gestures, depending on their preference. Even though its body is all plastic, this smartphone feels solid. It, however, does not look as premium as some of the other models in its price range. Its glossy plastic back may attract more fingerprints, which might make the phone slippery.
Honor 8C is powered by the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 SoC with its integrated Adreno 506 GPU, paired with 4GB of RAM. It comes with two Nano-SIM slots and a dedicated microSD card slot on the left side of the phone. The right side features a lock/power button and the volume rocker both of which are small and tactile. There is a single loudspeaker at the bottom and 3.5mm headphone jack at the top among other features.
